Job Overview

Truck Centers, Inc. is seeking a skilled Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our Service department, you will play a crucial role in delivering top-notch repairs and maintenance to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform high-quality work according to OEM, warranty, and dealership standards.
  • Read repair orders, diagnose vehicle issues, and plan work procedures to ensure efficient repairs.
  • Tackle general and major repairs across various truck systems, including engines, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, HVAC, electronics, and more.
  • Document diagnostic findings, repair progress, and completed work to keep customers informed and ensure smooth warranty processing.
  • Collaborate with the Parts department to verify parts and work closely with the Shop Foreman and Service Administration team for status updates or assistance.
  • Ensure every repair meets quality standards by performing checks and road tests to confirm the issue is resolved.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver's License with ability to meet insurance requirements
  • Class B CDL with air brake endorsement preferred; Class A CDL highly preferred
  • Certificate from a diesel tech training school or a minimum of 4 years mechanical medium- or heavy-duty truck service experience in a shop setting or military installation
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and commitment to providing quality work
  • Welding and fabrication skills are a plus
  • Candidates must have their own tools; TCI provides specialty and OEM-required tooling for on-site, communal use
  • Must participate in a pre-employment background check, physical, and drug screen.
