Job Title: Medical Surgical Travel Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Surgical Travel Nurse to join our team at Travel Nurse Across America. As a Medical Surgical Travel Nurse, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients, and provide bedside care in a fast-paced environment.

Job Description:

Job Summary: We are seeking a Medical Surgical Travel Nurse to work in a 13-week contract in Syracuse, New York. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of recent acute care experience and be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients.
  • Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
  • Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs.
  • Prepare equipment and aid the physician during examination and treatment of patients.
  • Educate patients on surgical procedures.
  • Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plans as prescribed by the physician.

Requirements:

  • ACLS certification
  • BLS certification
  • 2 years of recent acute care experience
