The Adult Infusion Centers at Mt. Zion, Parnassus, and Mission Bay provide comprehensive care to patients with medical oncology and hematology, blood, and cellular transplant needs. As an Outpatient Infusion Nurse, you will deliver direct patient care to an assigned adult infusion outpatient population, utilizing an interdisciplinary approach across the continuum of care. Your expertise in cancer and non-cancer disease processes, treatment modalities, symptom management, and patient education will be essential in providing high-quality care.
Responsibilities- Administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, immunotherapy, blood transfusions, hydration, and electrolyte therapy, injections, and blood draws
- Provide pain management, transfusion therapy, and other supportive care services
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
- Conduct patient assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of excellence
- Two (2) or more years of recent RN adult clinical oncology nursing experience
- Minimum (2) year of recent outpatient infusion experience administering chemotherapy/biotherapy within the last (3) years
- Experience administering infusions, pain management, transfusion therapy, hydration, etc.
- Knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to this position
- Demonstrates evidence of basic analytic thinking necessary to care for a group of complex patients such as oncology and a high degree of attention to detail
