Aircraft Engine Mechanic Supervisor Job Summary

This is a National Guard Title 32 Excepted position for a Aircraft Engine Mechanic Supervisor, Position Description Number D1808000, and is part of the SC 169 MAI SQ, South Carolina Air National Guard.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise workers at ANG units with validated and approved night shift operations, either directly or through subordinate leaders, in accomplishing Propulsion Element work.
  • Perform associated non-supervisory work.

This position works directly for the WS, Aircraft Engine Mechanic Supervisor.

Requirements
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position.
  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968.
  • Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
  • May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours; overtime may be required.

Education and Experience

Experience or training that has provided the ability to perform assembly and disassembly operations and make prescribed modifications to aircraft engines, engine assemblies, and accessories in accordance with technical specifications, procedures, and requirements.

Experience using hand and power tools common to the trade.

Experience or training performing standard, routine assembly and disassembly operations and making prescribed modifications to aircraft engines, engine assemblies, and accessories.

Experience or training performing maintenance overhaul, troubleshooting, testing, and repair of aircraft engines, engine components, and power trains for fixed and/or rotary wing aircraft.

Experience determining maintenance needed from work orders, inspection reports, historical record, and by own diagnosis.
