About the Role

The Director of Operations at Fagron Sterile Services is essential in overseeing various critical functions within the facility. Responsibilities encompass pharmaceutical and supply repackaging operations, warehouse management (including receiving, organization, inventory oversight, replenishment, and distribution), as well as maintenance across multiple buildings. This role is accountable for executing production schedules aligned with the overall production strategy and plant capacity, while also ensuring exceptional service and quality in product distribution. Furthermore, the Director collaborates with Quality Assurance and Regulatory teams to implement innovative processes, integrate new equipment, introduce new products, and investigate production discrepancies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate the activities and performance of assigned personnel to achieve operational excellence in production, warehousing, distribution, and facility upkeep.
  • Compile and analyze data regarding scheduling, production targets, equipment issues, and other reports as needed.
  • Collaborate with department management to synchronize production schedules to meet deadlines, objectives, and budgetary constraints.
  • Foster employee development through training, setting objectives, and promoting a positive work environment.
  • Assess staff performance and compliance, making necessary adjustments to achieve desired outcomes while maintaining performance records.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, cGMP standards, safety protocols, and cleanliness practices.
  • Continuously monitor project progress to guarantee timely completion with the required quality standards.
  • Advise management on daily operational matters and recommend improvements as necessary.
  • Ensure sufficient resources are available for repackaging and distribution operations (equipment, supplies, processes, and workforce).
  • Contribute to achieving production, distribution, and corporate goals while maintaining cost-effectiveness and quality standards.
  • Enhance the capabilities of direct reports through coaching, feedback, and setting relevant objectives to improve morale and work-life balance.
  • Oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of production equipment and facilities.
  • Take proactive measures to eliminate delays and ensure compliance with production and shipping timelines.
  • Conduct self-audits of performance and suggest personal objectives and standards.
  • Direct and manage the short- and long-term strategic initiatives of the production department.
Qualifications

Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, logistics, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Over 10 years of relevant experience, ideally in the pharmaceutical, therapeutics, medical device, or other highly regulated manufacturing sectors.
  • Proven leadership abilities with at least 7 years in management or leadership roles.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and be on-call during off-hours.
  • Strong communication and employee relations skills.
  • Collaborative team player with a flexible mindset.
  • Robust understanding of cGMP regulations and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience in entrepreneurial environments or start-ups is advantageous.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong presentation capabilities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, capable of fostering teamwork across various functions.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in business matters.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; experience with Microsoft D365 and Master Control is a plus.

  • Self-motivated with the initiative to work independently and collaboratively.
