The Travel Nurse RN PCU Specialist will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a PCU setting. This includes assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, as well as collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in PCU nursing, with experience in caring for patients with acute MI, cardiac arrhythmias, cardiomyopathy, CHF, and other low-risk cardiac diagnoses. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Unit DescriptionThe 3S Comp-Med Stepdown unit is a 29-bed medical stepdown unit specializing in the care of patients diagnosed with acute MI, cardiac arrhythmias, cardiomyopathy, CHF, and other low-risk cardiac diagnoses. The unit offers general medical services to all types of patients requiring cardiac monitoring, including cardiology, renal, endocrinology, general medicine, pulmonology, gastroenterology, and oncology.
The unit is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including non-invasive positive pressure ventilation (Bi-PAP, C-PAP, and A-PAP) and infusion therapy. The team on this unit undergoes special training and education to provide high-quality patient care.
Requirements- Required Skills & Experience:
- The RN demonstrates the knowledge, abilities, and skills to provide age and culturally specific patient care and education.
- The RN effectively communicates with peers, utilizes appropriate channels of communication, and maintains absolute confidentiality.
- The RN maintains competence and demonstrates evidence of continuing professional growth.
- The RN demonstrates the ability to accept and implement change and the ability to work in a culturally diverse setting.

The ideal candidate will have a Diploma of Nursing and a current Ohio RN License or Compact. They will also have BLS (American Heart Assoc.) and ACLS (American Heart Assoc.) certifications, as well as NIH stroke scale certification.
