Meat Cutter

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Meat Wrapper to join our team at Strack & Van Til. As a Meat Wrapper, you will be responsible for grinding meat, wrapping cut products, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Meat Handling:
  • Grind meat to meet customer demands
  • Wrap cut products to ensure freshness and quality
  • Stock and rotate lunch meat and chicken products
  • Pull out-of-code products to maintain inventory accuracy
• Customer Service:
  • Assist customers with meat product inquiries
  • Face merchandise in the department to ensure visibility
• Inventory Management:
  • Operate a scale and UPC labeler to accurately label products
  • Cut open boxes to access products
  • Packages meat for sale
• Team Collaboration:
  • Climb ladders or use a stair tower to reach stock
  • Stack off pallets to maintain a clean workspace
  • Build displays to showcase products
  • Operate a baler and lift to manage inventory
  • Answer calls and respond to customer inquiries
  • Operate a trash compactor to maintain a clean environment

Requirements:

• A positive customer service attitude and pleasant personality
• Effective memory skills to manage inventory and customer requests
• Excellent hand-eye coordination to operate equipment safely
• Dependability and ability to follow directions
• A strong willingness to learn and adapt to new situations

Work Environment:

Normal exposure to weather and temperature extremes. Exposure to cooler and freezer environments does not exceed 1 hour at a time. Average back room temperature is 40F.
