Custodian Supervisor

Columbia Basin College is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Custodian Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our facilities. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and safety of our campus buildings and grounds.

• Supervise and Coordinate Maintenance Activities: Oversee the work of custodial staff, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
• Manage Facilities and Equipment: Maintain and repair facilities and equipment, including cleaning and maintaining floors, walls, and other surfaces.
• Develop and Implement Maintenance Plans: Create and implement plans to maintain and improve the condition of our facilities, including scheduling regular maintenance and repairs.
• Ensure Compliance with Safety and Security Protocols: Ensure that all staff members are aware of and comply with safety and security protocols, including emergency procedures and protocols for handling hazardous materials.
• Collaborate with Other Departments: Work closely with other departments, including facilities management, human resources, and finance, to ensure that all maintenance and repair activities are coordinated and effective.
• Monitor and Report on Maintenance Activities: Track and report on maintenance activities, including scheduling, completion, and any issues or concerns.

• 2+ Years of Experience in Maintenance or Facilities Management: Proven experience in maintenance or facilities management, including supervisory experience.
• Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with staff, faculty, and students.
• Ability to Work Independently and as Part of a Team: Ability to work independently and as part of a team, including the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge of Safety and Security Protocols: Knowledge of safety and security protocols, including emergency procedures and protocols for handling hazardous materials.
• Ability to Lift and Move Heavy Objects: Ability to lift and move heavy objects, including equipment and supplies.

• Certification in Maintenance or Facilities Management: Certification in maintenance or facilities management, including ISSA Custodial Certification.
• Experience with Maintenance Software: Experience with maintenance software, including scheduling and tracking systems.
• Knowledge of Building Codes and Regulations: Knowledge of building codes and regulations, including OSHA and other relevant standards.
