Location: Fort Worth, Texas

Compensation: USD 75/hr

The AWS Admin and Operations Lead will be responsible for orchestrating the setup, scaling, and enhancement of AWS operations. This role requires a profound understanding of AWS technologies combined with a robust background in operational management. The individual will be tasked with designing, implementing, and sustaining AWS solutions and environments that align with organizational requirements while ensuring peak performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee, monitor, and sustain our AWS infrastructure to guarantee optimal performance, availability, and security.
  • Deploy and manage AWS services such as EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch, among others as necessary.
  • Provide operational guidance regarding AWS to internal Tech M teams and relevant stakeholders.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues, applying updates and patches to maintain system integrity within AWS environments.
  • Construct secure, resilient, and scalable cloud infrastructure on Amazon Web Services.
  • Document essential artifacts including sample code, tutorials, and best practice recommendations.
  • Engage with container and orchestration tools such as AWS ECS, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Research and provide insights on new AWS services.
  • Advise on solutions that ensure compatibility across platforms.
  • Design and implement scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems on AWS.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and management utilizing tools like CloudFormation, Terraform, or Ansible.
  • Create and maintain scripts for system monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery.
  • Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Implement and uphold cloud security best practices, including IAM, encryption, and network security.
  • Continuously enhance infrastructure by exploring and integrating new AWS services and features.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for critical systems.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Operational Setup: Establish operational policies, procedures, and standards for the AWS environment, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and industry best practices.
  • Operational Scaling: Strategize and execute initiatives to scale the AWS environment in response to evolving business needs and technological advancements.
  • Operational Maturity: Foster the maturity of AWS operations through process enhancements, knowledge sharing, and skills development, implementing frameworks such as ITIL as applicable.
