Position Overview

AECOM is seeking a qualified Process Safety Engineer to be part of our Environment Business Line within the EHS + Air practice. This role is pivotal in assisting clients with their Process Safety Management (PSM), Risk Management Plan (RMP), and Health and Safety (H&S) compliance needs across various sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implementing PSM, RMP, and H&S initiatives for clients in the consulting sector.
  • Contributing to business development activities, including the preparation of technical and financial proposals to expand our compliance services.
  • Fostering strong relationships with clients to promote retention and growth.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 4 years of experience in chemical engineering and process safety, demonstrating proficiency in:

  • Conducting Process Hazard Analyses, including methodologies such as What-If, HazOp, HazID, and FMEA.
  • Performing PSM and H&S compliance audits and inspections to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Possessing a thorough understanding of relevant regulations, including OSHA 1910 and EPA 40 CFR 68.
  • Advising on process improvements to mitigate risks and enhance safety.
  • Designing and delivering PSM and H&S training programs for client personnel.
  • Providing on-site support for PSM and H&S initiatives.
  • Managing projects related to PSM and H&S, including budget oversight and technical guidance.
  • Mentoring junior professionals in the field.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering.
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in PSM and H&S compliance.
  • Willingness to travel as required for audits and inspections.
  • Valid US Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in chemical engineering.
  • 6 years of experience in PSM and H&S compliance.
  • Professional certifications such as CSP or CPSA.
