About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Psychiatric Charge Nurse to join our team at McLean Hospital in Lexington, Massachusetts. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and leadership within our psychiatric unit.

Job Summary

The Psychiatric Charge Nurse will be responsible for coordinating patient care, leading interdisciplinary teams, and ensuring seamless communication among healthcare professionals. This is a full-time position with a 40-hour workweek, including evenings.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate patient care activities, prioritizing tasks and delegating duties as needed.
  • Lead interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient information.
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment, adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must possess:

  • A valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • No experience required, but one year of medical/psychiatric experience is preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in electronic medical records systems.
