Job Overview

Kaiser is seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Clinician Specialist to join our team. This is a rewarding opportunity to work with adult and child members who require mental health services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective clinical treatment programs for members with acute or chronic mental illness, in collaboration with licensed Psychologists and Psychiatrists.
  • Provide individual, couples, family, and group outpatient psychotherapy sessions, ensuring a supportive environment for patients and their families.
  • Counsel and instruct patients regarding adherence to prescribed therapeutic regimens and medication protocols, within the scope of practice.
Additional Duties
  • Collaborate with physicians to screen and evaluate patients for psychotropic medications, utilizing professional expertise and judgment.
  • Leverage resources from public and private agencies to meet the diverse needs of members, fostering a comprehensive treatment approach.
  • Regularly confer with supervisors to discuss member progress and treatment strategies, ensuring optimal outcomes.
  • Offer support to members' families, including explanations of treatment plans, instruction on how to facilitate recovery, and interventions to enhance acceptance and adherence to treatment, upon request.
Requirements
  • Completion of a minimum 1-year (1500 hours) psychology doctoral internship, leading to a PhD/PsyD/EdD in Clinical, Counseling, Health, or School Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Prior experience in a hospital setting is preferred but not required, as is the ability to maintain confidentiality and patient trust when working with vulnerable populations.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, current DSM-V diagnosis, and psychotherapeutic techniques are essential, along with excellent communication and collaboration skills, both verbal and written.
  • Able to prioritize multiple tasks and projects while maintaining productivity and accuracy, with familiarity with electronic medical records and common software applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite and EMR systems, being a plus.
Compensation Package

The estimated annual salary for this position is $80,000 - $110,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
