Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated Legal Intern to support our team at Atlanta Personal Injury Law Group - Gore. Compensation:

$15 per hour, depending on experience

Key Responsibilities:

The Legal Intern will assist in various tasks associated with personal injury cases. Responsibilities may include:

  • Legal Research: Conduct thorough research on applicable laws, regulations, and case precedents to support legal arguments.
  • Document Preparation: Assist in drafting and formatting legal documents, including pleadings and motions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Evidence Review: Organize and analyze medical records, police reports, and other relevant documents to aid in case preparation.
  • Client Interaction: Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and provide updates on case progress.
  • Court Filings: Prepare and file legal documents with the appropriate courts, adhering to established procedures.
  • Investigation Support: Collaborate with investigators and interview witnesses to collect pertinent information for cases.
  • Legal Software Utilization: Use legal databases and software to manage case-related information efficiently.
  • Court Attendance: Accompany attorneys to court sessions, taking notes and assisting as needed.
  • Legal Memoranda: Draft memoranda summarizing key legal issues and arguments for specific cases.
  • Trial Preparation: Assist in organizing trial materials and preparing witnesses for court.
  • Administrative Support: Perform various administrative tasks, including scheduling and managing the attorney's calendar.
  • Continuing Education: Stay updated on developments in personal injury law through seminars and training.
  • Ethical Standards: Uphold the highest standards of ethics and confidentiality in all interactions.

The responsibilities of the Legal Intern may evolve as they gain experience. Close collaboration with supervising attorneys is essential to adapt to the specific needs of the firm. This internship provides valuable insights into the legal profession while assisting clients in their pursuit of justice.

Qualifications:
  • 1-2 years of legal experience preferred
  • Experience as a paralegal is advantageous
  • Familiarity with personal injury law
  • Experience in case management
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Currently enrolled in Law School
