Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Dental Hygienist to join our team at Nursing Voyage. As a Primary Care Dental Specialist, you will play a vital role in delivering quality dental care and patient education. This position requires adherence to compliance protocols and our organizational policies to maintain high standards of care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet and welcome patients with a friendly demeanor.
  • Conduct comprehensive medical and dental histories; communicate with outside physicians as necessary.
  • Perform detailed intra-oral and extra-oral examinations for all patients.
  • Take dental radiographs as needed.
  • Execute preventative measures, including prophylaxis cleaning and polishing of teeth.
  • Conduct root scaling and planing for patients with periodontal disease.
  • Provide tailored patient education regarding oral health and disease prevention.
  • Collaborate with dentists on patient care and make referrals to specialists when required.
  • Document all patient interactions accurately in the patient charts.
  • Set up and break down treatment rooms between patients.
  • Assist with lab tasks assigned by clinical management or dentists.
  • Adhere strictly to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Carry out administrative duties such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and supporting emergency care needs within the dental team.
Required Competencies:
  • Proven compassion and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
  • Strong physical stamina to manage patient care tasks.
Qualifications:
  • Graduation from an accredited Associate's Degree program in Dental Hygiene.
  • Valid Massachusetts Dental Hygienist License.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Commitment to ongoing education and training.
  • Proficiency in Dentrix and any required dental center software.
