Job Summary:

The primary role of the Orthodontic Dental Assistant is to provide clinical care and ensure a positive experience for our patients at SALT Dental Partners.

This includes welcoming patients to the office, seating them, reading their charts, and setting up for the doctor. Once seated, the assistant checks the patient's treatment progress and advises the doctor on patient oral health and any questions or concerns they may have.

The assistant should be able to successfully fit orthodontic bands, tie arch wires, take impressions, assist in cementing bands and bonding brackets, and perform all necessary cleaning and sterilization practices.

Careful attention to detail is necessary to maintain a high level of patient care. One primary responsibility of the assistant is to communicate with patients to educate and motivate them throughout the treatment process.

This position will involve travel between our offices.

Requirements:

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Orthodontic experience and clinical proficiency with a variety of orthodontic appliances is preferred, but not required.
  • A candidate will be able to demonstrate proficiency in fitting bands and brackets, tying in arch wires, and taking consistent, accurate impressions.
  • Good computer skills are also required.
  • The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the desire and ability to learn new skills and work well with a team.
