About the Role:

InterMed, P.A. is seeking a skilled Medical Imaging Specialist to join our team on a part-time basis.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to work as a Medical Imaging Specialist in our mammography department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for producing high-quality mammograms, maintaining accurate patient records, and ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce consistently high-quality mammograms by adjusting equipment, positioning patients, minimizing discomfort, and identifying images accurately.

  • Gather all necessary information for successful studies, including patient medical history and additional views when required.

  • Maintain clean and organized working conditions, adhering to universal precautions and safety procedures.

  • Document patient data and imaging exams, demonstrating expertise with Electronic Medical Records and Radiology Information Systems.

  • Request outside films and reports when indicated for correlation, provide patient education, and call patients for additional views as needed.

  • Assist with QA, perform Quality Control duties, and recognize/report any equipment malfunctions or variations.

  • Monitor supplies, order materials as necessary, and cover other sites or modalities as requested/needed (if cross-trained).

  • Provide orientation and training to new mammography technologists, demonstrating effective communication and conflict resolution skills.

  • Maintain certifications with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and American Registry in Mammography, as well as Maine state licensure.

  • Perform other related duties incidental to work within the department.

Requirements:

  • Successful completion of an AMA-accredited radiology program.

  • ARRT certification in mammography, digital mammography, and digital breast tomosynthesis.

  • Ability to use independent judgment and interact effectively with radiologists.

  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the breast, axilla, and chest wall, as well as skill in training co-workers in equipment operations.

Salary: Estimated $55-$65 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Schedule: Part-time opportunity with varying shifts and hours.
