Job Title: Kitchen Associate

About the Role:

Marukai Corp. is seeking a skilled Kitchen Associate to join our team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of dishes, including Japanese and Hawaiian cuisine.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook food to order, following recipes and guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Work effectively as part of a team to ensure seamless service.
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to questions and concerns in a professional manner.
  • Participate in cross-training opportunities to develop skills and knowledge in other areas of the store.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Must be 18 years or older to use sharp knives, ladders, and power-driven machinery.
  • Previous experience in a kitchen environment, preferably as a line cook or prep cook, is preferred.
  • Possess a CA Food Handler's Certificate or be willing to obtain one.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without aid.
