Job Summary:The Registered Dietitian III, Registry will be responsible for assessing nutrition status, establishing nutrition diagnosis, developing intervention strategies, and monitoring/evaluating nutrition care plans in the adult inpatient setting. This position will also require coverage of an upcoming maternity leave in the Bariatric Clinic.
Essential Job Functions:- Under general direction, instruct, assist in the training, and check the work of less experienced staff.
- Establish individual plans of care for nutrition therapy based on results of the comprehensive nutritional assessment.
- Educate patients, caregivers, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members about the effectiveness of therapeutic diets and nutrition support regimens.
- Tailor feeding formulations for disease-specific constraints and clinical status changes.
- Authorize changes to formulas based on clinical assessment of the patient.
- Instruct patients and families on modified diets.
- Registered Dietitian (RD) with successful completion of coordinated program, dietetic internship, or other experience approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Dietetic Education (CADE) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
- Maintenance of RD through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) by accrual of 75 units of approved Continuing Professional Education every 5 years.
- 6(+) years total clinical experience AND MS degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or other relevant major OR 9(+) years total clinical experience AND BS degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or other relevant major, to qualify as an RDIII.
