Erlanger Behavioral Health Hospital is a psychiatric care institution that provides mental health services for various age groups, including adolescents, adults, and seniors.
ROLE PURPOSE:
Deliver nursing care and services in accordance with the standards and scope of nursing practice as outlined by state regulations, policies, and protocols. Maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional demeanor towards all patients and stakeholders. Ensure that patient safety remains a top priority.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monitor patient health and deliver fundamental care while adhering to the nursing process within the LPN/LVN scope of practice to achieve care plan objectives.
Exemplify customer service expectations and demonstrate urgency regarding patient safety.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to address patients' physical, biopsychosocial, developmental, and cultural needs, and proactively resolve any customer complaints.
Ensure the comfort of patients by implementing individualized nursing interventions as outlined in their care plans.
Apply appropriate strategies to facilitate patient recovery and maintain overall wellness.
Engage in discussions with patients regarding their care and attentively listen to their concerns. Report any changes in status or concerns to registered nurses and physicians.
Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, visitors, colleagues, and other stakeholders involved in patient care.
Administer medications safely in compliance with established policies, physician orders, and current practices.
Uphold professional nursing standards in alignment with facility policies, external governing bodies, performance improvement standards, and psychiatric nursing guidelines.
Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient symptoms, responses, and progress.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required.
Preferred: One or more years of nursing experience in a clinical setting relevant to the services provided by the facility.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:
Current LPN/LVN license as mandated by state regulations.
CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training provided upon hire).
First aid certification may be required based on state or facility regulations.
