Job Overview

Directions for Living seeks a skilled Clinical Assessor Mental Health Court Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Mental Health Court team, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive bio-psychosocial assessments, treatment planning, and other documentation and assessments as required. This role requires a subject matter expert in comprehensive bio-psychosocial assessments, treatment planning, and counseling interventions that enhance recovery, natural supports, and coping and self-management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct intake assessments for MHC referrals in the field, including within the Pinellas County Jail.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans that meet medical necessity for behavioral health and substance abuse services.
  • Provide ongoing guidance, education, and recommendations for treatment planning and interventions based on medical necessity.
  • Collaborate with the MHC team to ensure seamless care coordination and referrals for needed services.
  • Communicate effectively with court personnel and provide clinical expertise in court settings.

Requirements:

  1. Master's Degree in Human Services required, with a focus on social work, counseling, or marriage and family therapy a plus.
  2. At least two years' experience working with a psychiatric population is preferred.
  3. Ability to meet productivity requirements of 1440 hours of direct face-to-face client contacts annually.
