Manufacturing Operations Manager

Dorman Products is a leading manufacturer of automotive parts, and we are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our manufacturing facility, ensuring that all production goals are met, and that our products are of the highest quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of manufacturing employees to achieve overall company goals.
  • Schedule employees for daily production as determined by production schedulers.
  • Train new employees in job duties and ensure they are properly equipped to perform their tasks.
  • Inspect work in progress and finished products to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Keep accurate records of employee attendance, disciplinary issues, and general employee information.
  • Assist employees with minor maintenance repairs and ensure that all equipment is properly maintained.
  • Attend company and departmental meetings as scheduled.
  • Review production schedules and estimates work requirements for job completion.
  • Interpret company policies to employees and enforce safety and OSHA regulations.
  • Complete supervisory reports for work-related accidents.
  • Analyze and resolve work/employee problems.
  • Recommend or initiate personnel actions such as promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary measures.
  • Maintain time and production records.
  • Complete daily paperwork as assigned.
  • Prepare annual employee performance reviews.
  • Responsible for general plant housekeeping.
  • Perform security functions as needed.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); OR one to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent, and to draw and interpret graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
