Position Overview
Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Lead Environmental Chemist to enhance our dedicated and innovative team. In this pivotal role, you will have a significant impact on various projects, ranging from environmental assessments and investigations to the formulation of remediation strategies and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements. Additionally, you will take on a mentorship role, guiding junior team members in field data collection, environmental design principles, and compliance standards.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline; advanced degrees or PhDs are advantageous;
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in overseeing assessment and remediation design initiatives, along with permitting and environmental compliance activities;
- Familiarity with challenges associated with the mining sector is a plus;
- Comprehensive understanding of state and federal environmental regulations related to compliance and remediation systems;
- Experience collaborating with regulatory agencies in the tristate area is beneficial;
- Proven track record in developing and implementing business strategies, including market analysis, client relationship management, and revenue growth;
- Ability to provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior scientists while fostering a collaborative and inclusive work culture;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience in preparing regulatory submissions and presenting complex technical information to diverse audiences;
- Experience working within multidisciplinary teams and collaborating with professionals from various fields.
