We are seeking a Volunteer Companion for Seniors at Fingerlakes Health. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our residents.

About the Role

The Volunteer Companion for Seniors will assist staff in delivering activities and providing companionship to residents. This includes setting up for activities, delivering mail and newspapers, and transporting residents to group activities.

Responsibilities
  • Assist staff in organizing and implementing activities, such as games, entertainment, and refreshments.
  • Deliver mail and newspapers to residents as requested.
  • Provide one-on-one visitation and conversation with residents.
  • Transport residents to group activities and assist with setup and cleanup.
  • Follow policies and procedures related to infection control and confidentiality.
Requirements
  • Be dependable and able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Able to follow directions and work independently.
  • Recognize the importance of resident dignity and provide compassionate care.
  • Have a positive attitude and enjoy interacting with people.
Estimated Salary: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour

Please note that hours are primarily weekdays between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., determined by the Activities Director.
