Key Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to residents, including administering medications, wound care, and vital sign monitoring.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of Nursing Assistants to ensure a high level of quality care is maintained.
- Responsible for admission, transfer, and discharge of residents, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
- Keep physicians and other healthcare professionals informed of changes in resident conditions, promoting a collaborative approach to care.
- Supervise Nursing Assistants and may supervise other nurses, fostering a culture of teamwork and accountability.
- Attend a minimum of 12 annual hours of in-service education, staying up-to-date on the latest geriatric care practices and technologies.
- Graduate of an accredited LPN program.
- LPN license for the state in which practicing.
- Recent clinical experience, education, and specialty skills specific to geriatrics.
- Flexible schedule, including availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to work effectively with the senior population, promoting a culture of respect and empathy.
