Position Summary: Under the guidance of the Food Program Manager, the individual will oversee menu planning, manage inventory of food and supplies, and coordinate food procurement for various programs. Additionally, this role includes the management of daily operations for the on-site food pantry.
Supervision Responsibilities: May oversee one staff member.
Physical Requirements: This position demands a full range of motion, including strength in the back, legs, and arms for lifting tasks (e.g., unloading deliveries). Good flexibility is essential, and the role may involve high-stress situations due to scheduling demands in a fast-paced environment. The employee must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs regularly.
Working Environment: The role involves extended periods of computer work, alongside standing for inventory counts, moving boxes, and organizing supplies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote and adhere to safe work practices and procedures.
- Comply with all relevant USDA, CACFP, and SFSP policies and regulations.
- Conduct daily inventory checks of food supplies, ensuring to monitor expiration dates and utilize first-in, first-out practices.
- Submit daily food quantity requirements, weekly meal needs, and current inventory levels.
- Collaborate with the Food Program Manager to determine the appropriate quantity of food required.
- Accurately complete and submit all necessary documentation to branch staff.
- Maintain effective communication with the Program Director and Food Program Manager regarding operational issues and changes in food distribution.
- Develop and implement new food programs and distribution initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to the correct menu and maintain an updated menu on-site.
- Ensure accurate attendance and record-keeping for CACFP and SFSP, submitting all documentation punctually.
- Oversee daily operations of the on-site food pantry, including inventory management and timely submission of paperwork and reports.
- Follow uniform and personal hygiene standards.
- Embrace and demonstrate the core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
- ServSafe certification preferred.
- Certifications required within 45 days of hire: CPR/AED, BBP, and First Aid.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills with the ability to effectively lead others.
- Proficient computer skills and experience with standard business software.
- Able to engage effectively with diverse groups from various social and economic backgrounds.
- Must pass a clear criminal background check.
