Job Title: Certified Special Education Teacher

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Certified Special Education Teacher to join our team at Arizona Autism Charter Schools, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a caseload of students with disabilities, preparing lesson plans, instructing students, evaluating and monitoring students' performance, and advancing student achievement in the classroom environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of students with disabilities and provide individualized instruction to meet their unique needs.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that are aligned with the Arizona Department of Education standards and the students' IEP goals.
  • Evaluate and monitor students' progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Collaborate with the campus director and other teachers to plan and support instruction.
  • Provide professional development for staff on modifications and implementation of best practices.
  • Analyze curriculum data bi-weekly to make instructional decisions.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to keep them informed of their child's progress.
  • Modify materials and resources as needed to meet the needs of students with disabilities.
  • Participate in all duties and responsibilities as appropriate for an AZACS faculty member.

Requirements:

  • Valid Special Education Teaching Certification in the state of Arizona.
  • At least 3 years of experience working with students with moderate to severe disabilities.
  • Experience and training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) preferred.
  • Arizona IVP Fingerprint clearance card.
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher.

Working Conditions:

The work environment is typically an indoor classroom setting. The employee may be required to stand, walk, reach, and lift up to 20 pounds occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
