Manufacturing Supervisor

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a highly skilled Production Supervisor to oversee the manufacture of building products and ensure quality, safety, and productivity.

• Production Oversight: Facilitate the manufacture of building products to meet production demands, while ensuring quality, safety, and productivity.
• Staffing and Development: Develop and implement staffing guidelines to maximize utilization of human resources while controlling manpower costs. Hire, supervise, evaluate, and replace staff as required to ensure performance objectives are met/exceeded.
• Leadership and Training: Maintain a high degree of leadership and supervisory skills, including developing and training teammates, evaluating teammates periodically, and providing feedback.
• Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S and conversion cost reduction, COPQ reduction.
• Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and training to shift personnel in areas such as line setup/operation, testing, tooling, troubleshooting, machine metrics definition/reporting, changeover, safety procedures, record keeping, and training facilitation.
• Associate Development: Identify potential career paths for associates and work with associates to develop their skills and knowledge in order to progress within the company.
• Recruitment and Selection: Interview qualified candidates for manufacturing positions and recommend candidates for hire.
• Shift Operations: Assign personnel to extrusion lines or production areas and oversee line or area rotations and break schedules during assigned shift(s).
• Administrative Tasks: Complete or oversee completion of paperwork relative to line operation, operator logs, PM logs, audits, and corrective action.
• Emergency Response: Interrupt the normal flow of work to respond to any short notice production or shipping needs.
• Safety and Compliance: Knowledge and understanding of all safety policies and regulations and ability to address all unsafe acts and conditions.
• Policy Administration: Administer policies in a fair and consistent manner.
• Associate Support: Provide coaching and counselling to associates and corrective action when needed, always following the company guidelines.
• Process Improvement: Identify and assist with implementations for continuous process improvement. Use data to improve and refine production process.
• Materials Management: Control materials to eliminate waste and support quality.

• Experience: Minimum of three years of progressively responsible supervisory and leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Skills: Highly developed oral and written communication skills, combined with the ability to educate and train operators and technicians in a production environment.
• Leadership: Demonstrated ability to supervise, motivate, mentor, and train associates on a regular basis.
• Lean and 5S: Proficient in Lean and 5S principles.
• Mathematical and Mechanical Skills: Upper level mathematical and mechanical skills required.
• Work Orders and Schedules: Knowledge of work orders, schedules, and priorities and ability to carry out tasks.
• Attendance: Excellent attendance record.
• Language: Bilingual English/Spanish skills a plus.
