Job Title: Sign Language Interpreter Position

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to join our team at ProCare Therapy. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in American Sign Language (ASL) and experience working with deaf and hard of hearing individuals.

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret spoken language into sign language and vice versa accurately and effectively.
  • Ensure clear communication between deaf or hard of hearing individuals and hearing individuals in various settings.
  • Adapt interpreting style and vocabulary to match the preferences and needs of the individuals involved.
  • Remain impartial and maintain confidentiality during all interpreting assignments.
  • Stay updated on relevant terminology and industry standards to ensure high-quality interpretation services.
  • Collaborate with clients, colleagues, and other professionals to provide comprehensive support.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other relevant sign language(s).
  • Certification or licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter (e.g., RID certification).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Cultural competency and sensitivity towards the deaf and hard of hearing community.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Flexibility to work in various settings and adapt to different communication styles.
