Job Summary

The Medical Assistant, Certified plays a vital role in the interdisciplinary healthcare team, providing direct patient care and administrative support in a clinical setting. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, procedures, and techniques, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist healthcare professionals with patient examinations and procedures
  • Take medical histories, record vital signs, and prepare patients for examinations
  • Perform routine administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments and processing patient records
  • Provide patient education and support, promoting understanding of treatment plans and health outcomes
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care and efficient clinic operations

Requirements:

  • Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA, or ARMA
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • High school or GED graduation
  • Graduation from a medical assistant program accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES (for Levels II-IV)
  • 1-3 years of clinical experience (for Levels II-IV)
