Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Refrigeration Mechanic II to join our team at Schwan's Company. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and preventative maintenance of all refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect and maintain refrigeration equipment, including air-conditioning units, dehumidifiers, compressors, evaporators, and safety pop-off valves.
  • Repair malfunctions and perform complete overhauls as needed, ensuring all equipment is in good working condition.
  • Install and replace motors, pumps, switches, safety controls, solenoids, and fuses at all refrigeration areas.
  • Assist in the ordering of refrigeration parts and maintain accurate records of refrigeration maintenance.
  • Perform setup and tear down of equipment, and assist with major repairs and/or construction required to plant buildings and stationary equipment.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, two-year degree in specialized maintenance trade preferred with 1-3 years of related experience.
  • Knowledge of refrigeration maintenance, boilers, and ammonia compressors.
  • Ability to don and doff an air purifying respirator (APR) and/or Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA), HAZMAT certifiable.
  • Ability to obtain a boiler license.
  • Advanced electrical and maintenance knowledge/experience required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to complete work orders, carry out instructions, and complete required paperwork.
