Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at MJ Care Inc. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for providing direct and consultative services to children with exceptional educational needs and to educational staff when children require speech-language pathology to benefit from special education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a school-based speech-language pathology program by providing direct and indirect services to children and educational staff.
  • Conduct evaluations, interpret findings, and prepare written reports to support the development of Individual Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Collaborate with IEP teams to develop educationally appropriate speech-language therapy and related goals and objectives.
  • Provide speech-language pathology services to children in educational environments, including travel to and among schools as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records, including daily documentation, Medicaid billing logs, IEPs, and progress reports.
  • Adhere to established federal, state, and local rules, regulations, and laws related to speech-language pathology services in schools.
  • Supervise speech-language pathology assistants as needed.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology from a school accredited by the American Speech Language Hearing Association.
  • Current Department of Public Instruction license in good standing required for Wisconsin positions.
  • Current Illinois State Board of Education license in good standing required for Illinois positions.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence is required for SLPs in a mentor role and is highly recommended when filling school-based assignments.
  • Current state license and/or certification to provide speech language pathology services in good standing preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ year of experience in speech-language pathology.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and billing software.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent travel to and among schools. The associate must be able to lift and/or carry up to 50lbs, and use fine dexterity to perform tasks. Specific vision abilities required by this job include being able to read documents, read computer screen, and observe students and work space. Specific hearing abilities required by the job include being able to hear in a moderately loud work environment.
