Job Summary

The Maintenance Director will oversee preventative maintenance and repairs of fleet vehicles, providing direction to a team of diesel technicians. This role is responsible for implementing monitoring maintenance policies and procedures and ensuring all repairs are performed in compliance with company, federal, and state regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direction to on-site technicians and ensure that all repairs and maintenance work are performed in a safe, efficient, and timely manner.
  • Oversee coordination, planning, and scheduling of all repair work to increase productivity while effectively monitoring the shop's operational performance and efficiency.
  • Provide hands-on maintenance assistance and training as needed to ensure opportunities for personal and professional growth among technicians.
  • Maintain an ongoing preventative maintenance program to set the standard for service excellence and identify trends in road calls and breakdowns; control maintenance costs related to personnel, purchasing, inventory control, and outsourcing of repairs.
  • Perform inspections of outside repairs and maintenance to ensure all work is properly completed in accordance with company safety and compliance procedures and federal and state regulations.
  • Maintain advanced knowledge of engine, emission systems, transmission, brake, hydraulic, and electrical systems of company vehicles.
  • Manage professional business relationships with external vendors and maintain knowledge of all equipment warranties.
  • Demonstrate effective leadership skills and ensure compliance with all applicable corporate, federal, and state rules and regulations by communicating clear goals and providing coaching and development opportunities that ensure employees achieve necessary skills and organizational results.
  • Participate in training and other learning opportunities to expand knowledge of the company, products, sales, and services, and perform any other duties needed to help drive our vision, fulfill our mission, and/or abide by our core values.

Estimated Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on location and experience. This salary estimate is based on national averages for similar positions in the United States.
