Job Summary:

This position provides custodial and personal care services to clients under the direction of the Staffing Coordinator in compliance with the Plan of Care. The ideal candidate will have one year of experience in the home or long-term care setting and fluency in English.

Responsibilities:

Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment within the client's residence, including light cleaning and straightening of the bathroom, sleeping and living areas, washing dishes or laundry, and other tasks to maintain cleanliness and safety.

Perform all personal care activities contained in a written Plan of Care, including assisting with personal hygiene, ambulation and exercise, eating, dressing, shaving, physical transfer, and other duties as assigned.

Provide nutritional support as needed and report changes in the client's condition.

Assist with the use of devices for aid to daily living, such as a wheelchair, walker, or hoyer lift, and assist with prescribed range of motion exercises.

Teach household routine and skills to well members of the family, measure intake and output of fluids, and measure and record temperature, pulse, respiration, or blood pressure.

Keep records of personal health care activities and observe appearance and gross behavioral changes in the client, reporting to the agency supervisor.

Assist the client with the self-administration of medication, limited to taking the medication from storage, reading the label, opening the container, removing a prescribed amount, and closing the container.

Requirements:

One year of experience in the home or long-term care setting.

Fluency in English.

Ability to work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, based on availability.

Non-exempt, hourly FLSA status.

Work Environment:

This position is dependent on assignment and shifts are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Assisting Hands does not guarantee hours.
