Position Summary:
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for executing preventive maintenance, conducting repairs, and managing the installation and removal of equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on mechanical systems
- Identify malfunctions through auditory and visual inspections
- Repair defective or malfunctioning machine components
- Execute urgent repair tasks as necessary
- Align and calibrate mechanical parts
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations
- Maintain a tidy and safe working environment
- Install and repair complex mechanical systems
- Ensure compliance with safety standards
- Install various fittings such as valves and couplings
- Cut, grind, disassemble, and install piping systems
- Assist in various maintenance tasks, including changing hubs and rollers
- Support fire watch and whole watch duties
- Perform additional tasks as assigned
Supervisory Role: None
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year experience in industrial maintenance or mechanical roles, or a combination of training and experience
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and perform diverse tasks
- Capable of multitasking and working independently with minimal supervision
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background checks
- Adherence to all company policies and procedures is essential
- Availability to report to various job sites as needed, including flexibility in work schedules
Work Environment:
- Work may be conducted in varying temperatures, both indoors and outdoors, including inclement weather
- Exposure to moderate to high noise levels
- Potential exposure to fumes or airborne particles
- May require working in confined spaces or at heights
Physical Requirements:
- Regular use of construction equipment, including heavy machinery and hand tools
- Must be clean-shaven to wear a half mask, filtered respirator
- Ability to climb, bend, pull, reach overhead, and stand or walk for extended periods
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent use of hands for handling tools and controls; must have good vision and depth perception
Travel Requirements:
- May involve travel, typically not requiring overnight stays
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous military experience
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
