Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Technician to join our team at Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing analytical testing and maintaining associated records to support our clients' needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive, examine, and record inbound samples for testing, ensuring accurate and timely results.
  • Deliver test samples to the staging area, maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
  • Monitor the availability of supplies needed for testing processes and communicate needs to the Laboratory Manager.
  • Perform testing of samples and quality control specimens using specified methodology, reviewing results against specifications and known expectations.
  • Prepare samples and quality control specimens, standardize reagents and solutions, and calibrate equipment as needed.
  • Verify and communicate results, making appropriate entries into instrument logs, control charts, calibration records, and laboratory worksheets.
  • Maintain documentation, equipment, and work areas in a neat, orderly, and safe condition.
  • Assist in the training of less experienced employees, demonstrating proficiency and expertise.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent experience.
  • Two years' experience in a laboratory environment, preferably in analytical testing.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with shifting priorities and demanding deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented and able to effectively prioritize and organize workload, with efficient time management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues and clients.
  • Ability to handle chemical and petroleum products, with proficiency in online applications.
