About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled CDL B Driver/ Applicator Specialist to join our team at Southern States Cooperative. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and spreading custom applications of agronomy products on customers' fields.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and spread custom applications of agronomy products, including dry and/or liquid fertilizer, crop protectants, lime, and other treatment products.
  • Perform general maintenance and repair work to keep equipment in good operating condition.
  • Prepare custom application of dry fertilizer, crop protectants, and other treatment products according to customer work order.
  • Operate various types of equipment, including dry row spreaders, John Deere dry bodies, spreader trucks, and Terra-Gators.
  • Apply dry fertilizer, crop protectants, and other treatment products to customers' fields while ensuring proper application and spread pattern.

Requirements

  • A valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • The ability to work independently and follow safety, quality control, and operating procedures at all times.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to represent Southern States in a positive and customer-focused manner.
  • The ability to lift, load, and handle equipment, as well as operate controls and read maps and instructions.
  • Familiarity with precision ag software and hardware, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and perform general maintenance and repair of applicator equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience applying fertilizer, crop protectants, and other treatment products, as well as working in an agricultural environment.
  • Experience operating a forklift and familiarity with inventory control initiatives.
  • Prior experience working with customers, with excellent communication and customer service skills.

Working Conditions

This role requires continuous physical activity and exposure to various environmental conditions, including dust, odors, fumes, and hazardous chemicals associated with the application of dry and liquid fertilizers, crop protectants, and other treatment products.

Compensation

The estimated annual salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
