We are seeking a skilled NOC Technician to join our collaborative team in a full-time, benefit-eligible position. As part of our mission and values, we strive to meet objectives for the organization by working together to achieve common goals.

Position Purpose:

The purpose of the NOC Technician is to provide customer support for Bluebird Fiber customers. This role directly monitors BBF network elements, network performance, and facilities. NOC Technicians work with Field Operations and NOC Engineers on trouble tickets to coordinate, isolate, diagnose, and repair issues efficiently. Strong communication skills and the ability to work in multiple systems while managing multiple tickets simultaneously are essential. Overnight shift work is required, with hours subject to change based on department needs. Training will occur during day shift hours.

Requirements:

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. At least one year of experience in telecommunications or equivalent technical training is necessary. A minimum of one year of experience working in an NOC environment in the telecommunications industry is preferred. Key skills and abilities include:
  • Familiarity with trouble ticking systems
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies
  • DWDM and/or MPLS fundamentals
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule in a 24x7 environment
  • Capacity to work independently and as part of a team with minimal guidance, prioritizing customer-impacting issues
  • Multitasking and composure in demanding situations
Preferred qualifications include Nokia, ADVA, Ekinops, and MRV experience, familiarity with trouble ticking systems, knowledge of fiber optic fundamentals, and experience performing circuit testing procedures and test equipment.
