Aircraft Leasing SVP Risk - Miami

GKR Search and Selection is seeking a highly experienced Senior Vice President of Risk to join their Miami-based team. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the company's expanding risk management function as it continues to grow across multiple markets and regions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments across aviation markets, leasing transactions, and geopolitical risks to ensure the company's financial stability and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate and mitigate project-specific risks, providing strategic insights for the business.
  • Develop, implement, and enhance risk management policies, tools, and procedures to ensure the company's risk management function remains effective and efficient.
  • Monitor and assess the financial health and operational risks of airlines, providing strategic insights for the business.
  • Continuously improve risk management processes and provide necessary training and guidance to teams to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to manage risk effectively.
  • Prepare and present risk reports and credit assessments to senior management and approval committees, providing clear and concise information to inform business decisions.
  • Support transaction risk evaluations and propose strategies to mitigate risk exposure, ensuring the company's financial stability and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Manage distressed lessee accounts and lead recovery efforts, ensuring favorable outcomes for the company.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, risk management, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in risk management, ideally within aviation finance or aircraft leasing.
  • Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies, industry standards, and compliance regulations.
  • Experience monitoring airline performance and market trends.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across departments to achieve strategic goals.
  • Professional certification in risk management (CFA, FRM) is a plus.
