Dialysis Nurse Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Dialysis Nurse to join our team at ICONMA, L.L.C. in Mt Vernon, WA. As a Dialysis Nurse, you will be responsible for providing safe and quality care to patients requiring dialysis services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage all phases of patient care for inpatient dialysis treatment, utilizing established policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Administer medications according to policy and procedure.
  • Observe and document patient's response to pertinent medications.
  • Operate and resolve function issues of assigned equipment in compliance with manufacturer guidelines and Client policies and procedures.
  • Appropriately disinfect assigned dialysis equipment.
  • Document procedures in an accurate and timely manner per Client policies and procedures.
  • Document accurate and ongoing assessment of patient status to ensure patient safety and charge capture.
  • Teach patient/significant other appropriate health information in a timely manner and shares written and visual informational materials.
  • Perform indirect patient care, utilizing established procedures, policies, and standards.
  • Provide a thorough concise report at change of shift.
  • Communicate pertinent information to the appropriate person in a timely manner.
  • Perform accurate and timely documentation according to Client guidelines.
  • Accurately transcribe physician orders according to policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and safe environment for patients and staff according to policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that supplies and equipment necessary for patient care are stored in an organized and efficient manner.
  • Demonstrate correct and safe techniques in the use of equipment according to specific product information.
  • Follow appropriate procedures for obtaining and returning or cleaning/disposing of equipment and supplies.
  • Participate in economical utilization of supplies and ensures that equipment is maintained in a clean and safe manner.
Requirements:
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Working knowledge of fundamentals of nursing practice, End Stage Renal Disease, and hemodialysis.
  • Must have at least 2 years experience in acute dialysis; may consider a candidate with less experience based on qualifications.
  • Must maintain current Registered Nurse license to practice in the State of Washington.
  • AHA (American Heart Association) BLS required, ACL preferred.
  • Prefer CNN/CDN.

This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift or move objects and patients weighing over 50 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to focus.
