About the Role

This position is responsible for providing support to experienced mechanics in diesel automotive repair shops by assisting with repairs and maintenance tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in diesel and gasoline engine mechanics, as well as experience with hydraulic systems and air brakes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with repairs and maintenance tasks in a fast-paced repair shop environment
  • Work under the supervision of experienced mechanics to gain knowledge and skills
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of diesel and gasoline engine mechanics, hydraulic systems, and air brakes
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes and tire rotations
  • Assist with troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical issues
Requirements
  • 1+ year of experience in automotive maintenance or mechanical repair
  • Strong knowledge of diesel and gasoline engine mechanics, hydraulic systems, and air brakes
  • Experience with a variety of hand and power tools
  • Valid driver's license (non-CDL)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and lift up to 50 pounds
Preferred Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or 2 years of technical college or military experience
  • Cryogenics experience or training
  • Hydraulic experience or training
  • Class A CDL with HazMat endorsement (not required)
