Job Summary

A MRI Technologist is responsible for performing a variety of duties involving MR patient imaging, scanner instrumentation and contrast agent preparation, according to guidelines set forth by NYSDOH, JCAHO, OSHA, and the SOCH Hospital Imaging Services Department.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform MRI procedures at a proficient level, not requiring constant supervision of technical detail.
  • Prepare and administer contrast agents as needed.
  • Operate and maintain MRI equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and efficient patient care.
  • Participate in quality assurance and quality control activities to ensure high-quality images and patient safety.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an Approved School of Radiological Technology and/or candidate may be a graduate from an accredited/approved school/program of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).
  • BLS Certification.
  • Three (3) to Five (5) years work experience as a CT Technologist with strong background in cross-sectional anatomy is preferred.
  • MRI experience preferred.
  • Within Six (6) months employee should be able to perform MRI procedures.
  • Within 18 months Post-Hire: Associate must pursue obtaining their Certification by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists - Magnetic Resonance Imaging Registry (ARRT) (MRI).
Working Conditions:

Normal to cool temperature, dimmer lights. Risk of exposure to infectious organisms, ionizing radiation and strong magnetic field.

Required Travel:

To and from Sisters Hospital.
