Position Overview

AECOM is looking for a Junior Geoscientist to support our expanding Water division. This role will be integral to our Geotechnical and Geophysics Group, providing opportunities to engage in a variety of engineering projects from initial concept through to execution. Our portfolio includes significant civil infrastructure initiatives across various sectors, such as renewable energy, urban development, and transportation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in geophysical, geological, and geotechnical assessments, including conducting surveys and testing.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on diverse civil infrastructure projects.
  • Exhibit flexibility and readiness to travel for project-related activities as required.
  • Work under the guidance of experienced project managers or senior team members.
  • Support a range of geophysical investigations, including seismic and electromagnetic surveys.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geophysics, Geosciences, or a related discipline.
  • Possession of a valid U.S. driver's license for site visits and meetings.
  • U.S. Citizenship is mandatory due to the nature of the work.
  • Ability to lift and transport field equipment as necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Focus or interest in Geology, Geophysics, Geosciences, or Geographic Information Systems.
  • Strong eagerness to learn and a proactive professional attitude.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and familiarity with geoscience software such as ArcGIS and AutoCAD.
  • A commitment to working in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • A GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
