Position Overview- Specialty: Med Surg
- Discipline: RN
- Employment Type: Travel
- Duration: 10 weeks
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours
- Shift Length: 12 hours
Shift Details:
Evening shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
Facility: Parkridge East
Unit Information:
- Number of Beds: 30
- Patient Ratios: 1:6
- Staffing: Includes 2-3 techs per shift, a clinical coordinator, charge nurse, manager, and director.
Equipment Utilized: Wound vacs, heparin gtt, suction devices, IV pumps, glucometers, bladder scanners, feeding pumps, telemetry.
Documentation System: Editech
Scheduling Notes: Block scheduling is not guaranteed; rotation includes every other weekend and holiday.
Floating Policy: Nurses may float between 2 North and 2 West units.
Patient Experience Expectations: Maintain a positive demeanor, address patient and family needs, perform service recovery as necessary, and escalate issues through the appropriate channels.
Required Certifications: BLS certification is mandatory.
Desired Skill Set:
- Essential Skills: IV starts, NGT placement, wound care, cardiac rhythm interpretation.
- Advanced Skills: Cardiac rhythm interpretation.
Dress Code: Navy scrubs are required; fleece or sweatshirts are not permitted.
Unit Policies: Specific unit policies and guidelines will be provided.
Awards and Recognition: The unit has received various accolades, including colleague recognition programs and awards for excellence.
