Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiology Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at Gritman Medical Center. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for performing ultrasound examinations, selecting and adjusting equipment settings, and recording diagnostic data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine exam protocols based on the purpose of the examination.
  • Select appropriate transducers and adjust equipment settings according to the nature of the test, depth of field, and other specifications.
  • Perform ultrasound examinations by moving the transducer over specified areas of the body and monitor the quality of the ultrasound images produced.
  • Record diagnostic data and archive images digitally into the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
  • Produce permanent records of test results for patient files.
  • Participate with physicians in interpreting test reports and making diagnostic determinations.
  • Regularly check all equipment to ensure proper operation and report any malfunctions.
Qualifications
  • Satisfactory completion of an approved ultrasound technology program.
  • Eligible to meet the requirements for registry/certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
  • Must obtain ARDMS certification within one year of hire.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Commitment to maintain ARDMS continuing education credits.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in ultrasound technology is preferred but not required.
Skills and Abilities
  • Proficient in operating ultrasound equipment and understanding of ultrasound principles.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Ability to work with patients of all ages and conditions.
Work Environment

This position is located in an indoor clinical setting and requires regular exposure to risk of blood-borne diseases. The successful candidate will be expected to provide a positive and professional representation of Gritman Medical Center and promote a culture of safety for patients and employees.
