POSITION SUMMARY
This role involves executing financial and administrative functions within the finance department of Vermont State University. The position serves as a crucial link between the finance office and departmental leaders, ensuring the effective management of financial resources to support both administrative and academic initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Serve as the main liaison between the finance office and designated university budget managers.

• Generate comprehensive reports and analyses regarding various financial aspects, including trends, forecasts, and budget reconciliations.

• Develop and manage Synoptix reports along with distribution lists.

• Prepare and process journal entries and budget modifications.

• Conduct various administrative and financial tasks, such as creating budgetary documents, overseeing budget management, and maintaining detailed records.

• Engage in significant operational projects within the finance department, contributing to the enhancement of systems, procedures, and policies.

• Oversee purchase card administration and manage purchase orders as required.

• Monitor financial allocations, verify vendor billing accuracy, and suggest operational improvements for cost efficiency.

• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

SUPERVISION
Direct supervision is provided by the Financial Manager of Vermont State University.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, mathematics, business, or a related field, coupled with at least four years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the necessary knowledge and skills. Experience in budget management is essential.

• Proficient understanding of accounting and budgeting processes.

WORK LOCATION
This position may be performed remotely (within the U.S. - with some state exceptions) and/or on one of Vermont State University's campuses with a hybrid remote option.
