Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide and mentor a team of underwriters.
  • Oversee underwriting and pricing strategies to foster profitable growth.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders to identify service improvement opportunities that enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Evaluate and underwrite new and renewal business within assigned authority limits.
  • Develop and sustain relationships with distributors (agents and brokers) to support business retention and new opportunities, while addressing their insurance-related needs.
  • Promote a sales culture by acting as a trusted advisor to agents, brokers, and clients.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent with 5+ years of experience in Underwriting or Market Facing roles,
    OR
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent with 10+ years of experience in Claims or Underwriting Support,
    OR
  • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 3+ years of experience in Underwriting or Market Facing roles,
    OR
  • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 8+ years of experience in Claims or Underwriting Support,
    AND
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Advanced understanding of relevant lines of business.
  • Ability to cultivate and manage team relationships.
  • Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of the insurance industry and applicable legal and regulatory standards.
  • Minimum of 6 months supervisory or management experience.
  • Established relationships with producers.
  • Advanced skills in relationship management, active listening, needs assessment, and collaborative negotiation.
  • Exceptional presentation skills with a focus on solutions and service orientation.
  • CPCU designation.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of product lines and the insurance sector.
  • Results-driven approach.

Compensation: Zurich offers a competitive salary range based on various factors, including office location, role, skill set, and experience level. Additional rewards may include short-term incentive bonuses and merit increases.
