Job Title: Environmental Services Associate

Estimated Salary: $40,000 - $60,000 per year

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Services Associate to join our team at Samaritan Healthcare. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and pleasant environment essential for quality care of patients, visitors, and staff.

Responsibilities:
  • Clean patient rooms, including washing ceilings, walls, windows, and shades, wiping down all surfaces, dusting, mopping, and wet mopping, stripping, washing, and making beds.
  • Clean in all areas of the Hospital, Professional Center, and Pioneer Medical Center, including picking up garbage, washing wastebaskets, relining with clean plastic liners, cleaning lighting fixtures, tops of doors, vents, and other high areas, removing and replacing cubicle curtains, shower curtains, washing cubicle strings and shower curtains, cleaning patient, public, and staff restrooms, cleaning ice machines, defrosting and cleaning refrigerators, washing sinks, plumbing fixtures, drinking fountains, stainless steel mirrors, furniture, equipment, and casters, cleaning carpet stains, cleaning occupied and terminated isolation rooms, delivering clean linen, picking up soiled linen.
  • Maintain professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of the latest trends in the field of expertise.
  • Ensure no injuries to self or others by following safe work practices and policies, including security and safety, understanding of MSDS, equipment, infection control, fire, disaster, safe lifting and body mechanics.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Possession of a valid motor vehicle license is required.
  • Ability to read and write and follow oral and written instructions, must be alert to hazards.
  • Knowledge of common cleaning supplies and equipment, including mops, dry and wet vacuums.
  • Ability to use ladders.
  • Basic Life Support Heartsaver (HS) level to be completed within three months of hire.
