We are seeking a skilled Nursing Assistant to join our team at the Kellogg Mood Disorder Unit at Rush University Medical Center. As a Nursing Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our nursing staff.
Key Responsibilities- Assist Registered Nurses in delivering patient care, including vital signs, ADLs, and other clinical tasks.
- Report to the charge Registered Nurse to receive assignments and prioritize duties based on patient needs.
- Maintain a safe patient environment, including keeping patient rooms clean and organized.
- Transport patients and items as needed, including laboratory specimens and patient belongings.
- Utilize technology, including EPIC, to document patient information and communicate with the healthcare team.
- Current enrollment in an accredited Baccalaureate or Masters entry-level school of nursing, with passing grades in all courses upon hire and on an annual basis.
- Completed a fundamental nursing course, including basic nursing skills such as vital signs and ADLs.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of the institutional screening examination.
- Ability to solve simple problems and excellent communication and customer service skills.
The Nursing Assistant will be required to walk throughout the Medical Center and stand or walk for most of the designated shift. Lifting or carrying objects weighing 35-40lbs and supporting and positioning patients, some of whom may exceed 300lbs, is also required.
