Job Summary

The Child Mental Health Specialist position at Lifestream Behavioral Center delivers psychiatric healthcare services to individuals in inpatient and outpatient facilities. This role is responsible for determining the most appropriate level of care required and providing psychiatric evaluations, treatment, and emergency intervention.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform psychiatric evaluations on clients admitted to inpatient services, residential programs, and outpatient services.
  • Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medication for clients in inpatient, residential, and outpatient services.
  • Provide emergency psychiatric consultations for inpatient services, residential programs, and outpatient services.
  • Arrange for medical, dental, and ophthalmological consultations as needed.
  • Make chart and record notations according to CARF, DCF, Hospital Licensure, Medicare, and other pertinent standards.
  • Make necessary Medicaid and third-party assignments for billing purposes.
  • Attend and participate in Medical Staff, Peer Review, Quality Assurance, and professional staff functions.
  • Be on call according to special contracts and stipulations worked out between the Center and the psychiatrist.
Requirements
  • Proof of certification of approved residency training in General Psychiatry.
  • Required documentation for Credentialing process required at time of hire.
  • Level II Background Clearance.
