Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Music Teacher to join our team at Burncoat High School. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instructional experiences to students, promoting equity and appreciation of diversity, and ensuring equal educational opportunities for all individuals.

1. Remain up-to-date regarding curriculum content and standards.
2. Effectively plan and assess curriculum and instruction, making adjustments as needed.
3. Mentor students' understanding of the curriculum, adjusting instruction, materials, or assessments when appropriate.
4. Manage the classroom environment effectively.
5. Provide clear learning goals and use appropriate instructional and questioning techniques.
6. Utilize innovative approaches and instructional strategies to increase student learning and confidence.
7. Promote high standards and expectations for student achievement.
8. Promote equity and appreciation of diversity, ensuring equitable opportunities for student learning.
9. Ensure equal educational opportunities for all individuals, regardless of race, color, gender, age, marital status, religion, gender identity, national origin, sexual orientation, homelessness, or disability.
10. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

1. MA DESE License - Music: Vocal/Instrumental/General - ALL.
2. SEI Endorsement.
3. Bachelor's Degree.

1. Demonstrated experience supporting students with special needs.
2. Ability to speak Albanian, Arabic, Nepali, Portuguese, Spanish, Vietnamese, or an African Language.
3. Demonstrated experience with second language acquisition.

Work year: 184 days.

Salary: Appropriate step on Teacher's Salary Schedule.
